The Wednesday Club has again proved to be popular, with 24-26 members attending during the Winter season.
It is suitable for less experienced bowlers and beginners, providing a good way of starting your bowling career, with friendly people and a relaxed atmosphere.
We meet on Wednesday afternoons (summer and winter) between 2 to 4pm with a break for refreshments halfway through. No prior commitment is required, just turn up on the day, by no later than 1.40pm if possible, to allow teams to be organised.
For those of a competitive bent, we run a singles knockout competition which has just been completed this season, the final was played on 27th March. It was a fine match between Bob McCann and Arthur Thompson. It lasted almost the full two hours with 21 ends played, with a very high standard of bowls throughout. Arthur finally prevailed but Bob pushed him all the way.
